This may seem to be a stupid question, but I'm pretty new to the Unix/Linux/BSD OS's. I'm trying some of them that will run on a live CD in order to get a feel for nix OS's to see how they work, and if I want to go the Linux or BSD route. The problem I'm cursed with is this worthless winmodem I've got, and which at present I don't have the money to replace. So what I'm looking for are drivers that will work under Linux/BSD. The modem in question is a creative blaster modem. Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but I'm sure there are plenty of people in the same boat as I'm in, and probably quiet a few that would like to try your OS if they could find a driver for their "modem".

I didn't check for yours, but if you don't find it, there should be links off site.

Question that IS related:

Why are we keeping the Distro's so far behind the release? We're up to what, FreeBSD 5.4 - Release now... so why are we hanging back? If that is the case, where can I go to upload _my_ FreeBSD 5.4 Frenzy Image?

Frenzy 0.3 was released more than one year ago.
Now I working on new version, which will be based on 5.4-RELEASE. It will be released in october, if nothing will go wrong.
Now you can see screenshot from development version:

Hi all. Will dial-up connecting be possible in Frenzy 0.4?

Dial-up connection is possible even in 0.3 :)
You may use XISP or Chestnut-dialer to set up dialup connection.

FreeBSD can't work with winmodems.
The only exception for now is Lucent-based winmodems.
If you use Lucent-based winmodem, run command "/usr/local/etc/rc.d/ltmdm.sh.sample start" before modem setup.

Dillo would be nice to have, Opera is too slow on my CD.
I note the Base64.pm module is missing (kripp) on release 0.3.

Great CD, please keep up the good work, it's nice to have a BSD based security LiveCD.

hi again.
1. will it be possible to mount NTFS filesystems in read/write mode?
2. i've got frenzy 0.3 cd and can anybody tell me how to mount a flash drive? backup script writes backup data to a flash drive, but in xnc i can't view the data that flash drive contains.
p.s. sorry for my bad English

1) FreeBSD does not support writing to NTFS.
2) If you connect your USB Flash drive before Frenzy booting, it will be mounted automatically. When you connect it while Frenzy running, you can see message on first console, which tells you about USB Flash drive connection. You can see device name in this message, something like "da0". Then for mounting USB Flash you should use this command:
# mount_msdosfs /dev/da0s1 /mnt/flash
